Xero’s foray into its second EMEA market after the UK required a bonafide and demonstrable understanding of the economics and real state of small businesses.

The creative direction demanded the same approachable visual brand language, but with a regionalised flavour to develop a committed and passionate customer base that had grown up across Xero’s other burgeoning markets.

Accounting professionals have historically been treated as bean counters and compliance specialists. In the popular understanding, their role has been to make sure finances are orderly and correct; to avert trouble, while other teams focus on growth, profit, and strategy. Accountants themselves are often frustrated by this perception: they typically spend time on number crunching and compliance as a matter of necessity, not choice. An overwhelming 93% believe that they would be able to add more value to clients if they had more spare time every day.
